The Section 8 waiting list is currently closed. The Public Housing waiting list for the Authority’s southern Dauphin County units located in Steelton, Swatara Township, Highspire and Middletown is also closed; however, the Public Housing waiting list for units in northern Dauphin County including those in Lykens, Wiconisco, Williamstown, Williams Township, and Gratz is open.
In the near future, we hope to open the Applicant Portal Module, which will enable applicants to apply online. In the meantime, you can click on the Applications button and download a paper application, which you can complete, sign and send back to the Housing Authority. In the future, the Applicant Module will also allow an applicant to check his/her position on the Section 8 or Public Housing waiting lists.
The Housing Authority is pleased to present our new website. We believe that you will find it easy to navigate and very informative. Major topics appear above-- you can click on the area in which you are interested and that will bring down a menu allowing you to get specific information. Three of these same items which have heavy traffic are also shown below: Applications, Public Housing and Section 8.
This new website also contains many Housing Authority forms and policies, which were not available on the old website. In addition, in the Community Resources contains information on nearly 50 organizations providing housing and other services to lower income persons and families.
This new website is still a work in progress, so not all parts have been completed. Certain current news items will appear from time to time on this page. Also, contracts out for bid will be announced in the Vendor/Bidding section.
